In Hide & Seek, a girl cloaked in quiet heartache turns toward a moss-covered tree in a dreamlike forest, a crown of forget-me-nots nestled in her hair. Innocent. Invisible. Is she counting down or simply hiding her tears? Either way, no one’s coming to find her — but oh, how she still hopes.

This piece serves as a memorial to the ferocious screams that preceded civility and the games that didn’t end when they should have.
